UK: University of Oxford Fully- Funded Thatcher Graduate Scholarship for International Students. 2017/2018

The University of Oxford is pleased to offer Thatcher Graduate Scholarships for international students to pursue postgraduate degree for the academic year 2017-2018. The scholarship will cover 100% of University and college fees and a grant for living costs of at least £14,296.

The aims of the Thatcher Scholarships are to foster academic excellence, to support individuals who have a determination to succeed and to equip them to excel in their chosen field.

The University of Oxford is a collegiate research university located in Oxford, England, United Kingdom. While having no known date of foundation, there is evidence of teaching as far back as 1096, making it the oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world’s second-oldest surviving university.

Applicants must have proof of competence in written and spoken English (Support for improving English language skills may be provided by the Language Learning Centre at Oxford).

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing the postgraduate programme.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the field of English, Engineering, Law.

Scholarship Award: The scholarship will cover 100% of university and college fees and a grant for living costs of at least £14,296. Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course.

Scholarship can be taken in the UK

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must be applying to start a new full- or part-time course in one of the following departments: Faculty of English Language and Literature, Department of Engineering Science, Faculty of Law.
  • The Oxford-Qatar-Thatcher- Scholarship is available to all candidates, with a preference for students ordinarily resident in the following countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen.
  • Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit.
  • Applicants who hold deferred offers to start in 2017-18 are not eligible to be considered for these scholarships.

Nationality: Scholarships are available to all candidates, with a preference for students ordinarily resident in the following countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have their previous degree.

English Language Requirement: Applicants must have proof of competence in written and spoken English (Support for improving English language skills may be provided by the Language Learning Centre at Oxford).

How to Apply:

  • In order to be considered for this scholarship, students must submit their applications for graduate study by the relevant January deadline for the course.
  • To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, applicants must be successful in being offered a place on their course after consideration of applications received by the relevant January deadline for the course. Course applications which are held over after the January deadline to be re-evaluated against applications received by the March deadline or course applications which have been put on a waiting list are not eligible for scholarship consideration.

Application Deadline: The application deadline is 6 or 20 January 2017, depending on their course.
