Griffith University is Offering Fully-Funded PhD Scholarship for domestic and international students for Ph.D. in Human Evolution. The PhD project will complement research on the ARC-funded Future Fellowship recently awarded to Dr Julien Louys (2017-20) investigating the environments of Pleistocene Sumatra, as preserved by its vertebrate fossil record.
There is scope for the PhD candidate to study any aspect of taphonomy and site formation processes related to the vertebrate fossils. Research will concentrate on the formation of vertebrate-bearing cemented deposits in Sumatran caves. Research may also focus on aspects of non-cave deposits found during the course of the research. Fieldwork will be an essential part of this research.
Working principally under the supervision of Dr Julien Louys, the PhD candidate will join the rapidly expanding Australian Research Centre for Human Evolution at an exciting moment in its development.
